Final Takeaway

     As we approach the end of the semester, I start reflecting on all of the new tools that I discovered through this class. I loved being able to explore something new in every module. I was pushed this semester to try new things rather than show tools that I already knew about. At first, I found this irritating, but ultimately I'm so thankful for the push because I wound up loving the new things and being glad that I could try things out.       My favorite tool that I discovered was the Bee Line Reader which made it easier to understand large academic writings. I also loved building the website. It was tedious and frustrating at times because I had to keep starting over, but I loved the final product. HoloLens

The Hololens 2 is Microsoft's VR console. It is untethered and comes with pre-installed apps that make it an effective tool. The Hololens is intended to boost productivity across manufacturing, engineering & construction, healthcare, and education. According to Microsoft's website, using the HoloLens in manufacturing increases efficiency by 90% and has a 40% reduction in travel. In engineering & construction, the Hololens brings an estimated savings of $4,000,000 per year and a 14% decrease in construction costs. In healthcare, there is a 30% decrease in ward time and it could take as little as 20 minutes to train medical staff. Finally, when used in education, the HoloLens boasts 50% better student scores and an 83% decrease in training time.  There are several colleges and universities already using this technology to enhance student learning.
